Happy Valentine's Day!

These are actually the flowers Jay sent me via FedEx. Three dozen beautiful red roses. As he likes to put it, that's the amount of hours in a day it takes him to keep up with us!

Here we are before our date night. Just wanted to showcase EJ's photography. He has his Mama's touch...LOL!

At the restaurant. Our server commented on my accent!

Jay made reservations at one of my favorite restaurants, Texas de Brazil. This is also the place we went to for my 30th birthday when I was big and pregnant with Evan. Anyway, my friend, Holly, volunteered to watch all three of our kiddos so we could enjoy an uninterrupted dinner alone. (Just a little sidebar here: Holly's hubby is deployed for a year to Iraq. He left in December.) The food here is amazing! There is a salad/soup bar, which we like to refer to as "exotic." That is because the items in it are unique and you definitely don't see them at your local buffet. Once you are finished with your salad, soup, appetizers, then you flip this little card from red to green.

Now the fun begins! Gentlemen carrying skewers of meat come to your table, tell you the name of the meat, and you accept or decline. They will keep coming until you flip that card back over to red. When you are ready for more, flip the card back to green. Let me tell you some of our meat choices: bacon wrapped filet mignon, garlic sirloin, parmesan chicken drumstick, pork tenderloin, rack of lamb, sausage, flank steak, bacon wrapped chicken, sliced lamb, and the best is the restaurant's house steak. All of it is delicious! Oh, you are also presented with garlic mashed potatoes and ripe cinnamon banana. Why the banana? To cleanse your palette in between meats! The banana could be your dessert. Not for me! I ordered a piece of bananas foster pie on top of already having two glasses of Riesling! The pie was tasty, but not as tasty as bananas foster.

The evening was really nice for Jay & I. We were only gone 2.5 hours. When we got back to Holly's, Evan was wearing a pair of her son's shorts and Alison was wearing a shirt, pants and even underwear of Holly's four-year old. It seems Evan got into the dog's water and Alison slid in it. The kids had a lot of fun at Holly's and we sure appreciate her kindness of watching our three buggers.

Hope you had a great Vday!
