The Party's Over...thank goodness

Whew! I am so glad we are through with birthday's until the fall! Believe me, I LOVE parties, but after having consecutive celebrations since September (and all the other holiday's in between), I am exhausted!! Today was EJ's birthday party. Even though it is technically the first birthday celebration of the year, it feels like the last. It was a lot of fun AND also a lot of work. If it weren't for some parents staying and helping out this day would not have been possible. Holla to Stacy (getting great photos & taking care of Evan, even changing a diaper), Leslie (videotaping the whole party from beginning to end), & Annette (managing Alison in her times of crisis & also assisting with Evan).
PIRATE PARTY
Activities included:
- Painting a pirate ship
- Dressing the part of pirate by receiving vest, eye patch, hat and pirate name
(i.e. Ol No Legs Gallo, Mad Wicked Willie, Iron Redbeard)
- Enjoying the bounce house we rented
- Games like "Musical Islands" and "Pin the flag on the X"
- Opening gifts
- Singing to the birthay boy, enjoying the cake, and making ice cream sundaes
- Participating in a treasure hunt using clues

The bounce house was a great idea because it filled some "dead" time like when some kids were done eating and others were not. The party ran over by an hour and then some kids stayed another hour to help us get our money's worth. I'd recommend doing getting one for a future party.

Waiting for the rest of the crew to arrive

I lead the girls to the treasure chest before the boys got in there to take all the loot
