One of the benefits to being so far from the mainland are all the activities. There is definitely alot of shows, activities, events. Last month, the family went to see Gary Sinise and his band on their USO tour. It was a completely free event and you were encouraged to bring your own chairs, blankets, etc. to the show. Although we got a really close spot near the stage, Gary told everyone to come to the stage and enjoy the show. It ended up feeling more like a concert. We didn't get pushed back from our spot, just had alot of people now standing in front of us and trying not to step on our stuff!
The show was alot of fun! They are a cover band who sing everything from Katy Perry to The Steve Miller Band to Charlie Daniels. Although the kids didn't know some of the "older" songs, they sure enjoyed dancing and singing to an Adele song when it was sung. This is something we'd go to again, if Gary & the gang come back to this side of the world!
