Easter in Virginia
Visiting our good friends in Virginia last weekend, was a much needed, relaxing, great way to end Spring Break week. As I texted a friend of mine earlier in the week, "One or more of the children aren't going to make it through this week!" With EJ home, the dynamics are different. By that, I mean there is alot more fighting! We really had a wonderful time just hanging out all weekend. The only time we left the house was to attend church on Easter Sunday (and that was a short 4-mile drive). Our friends live in what I would consider the country and they own a pony, a horse, a dog, and a cat. After we left, they also own six baby chicks...LOL! The kids, especially Evan, loved going in and out of the house, onto the porch and out into the big backyard.
Alison & Evan were thrilled with Pony. Even though Alison did not ride Pony but for a few seconds, she sure enjoyed feeding and brushing him. I am glad they don't have the same hesitation towards horses that I do.
Isn't she lovely?
Here is Evan trying to feed Pony a dandelion. Pony was particulary fond of Evan for some reason. Whenever Evan was near, Pony would give him a nudge or nibble his hair.

Evan and Bailey riding Pony. Evan LOVED being on the pony. He didn't want to get off!
EJ and Pete pulling wild onions. These two got along SO well the whole weekend. You would never know it's been over two years since we last saw these friends!
They love each other so much!
The neigbors had an Easter scavenger hunt on Saturday. The kids were divided up into teams. My kids were on the green team.
Showing support of their team!

It started out as a beautiful day, but turned into a rainy, chilly one not long after the outside activities were complete.
Coloring eggs
Here we are trying to make our eggs multi-colored.
