A little Hawaiian rum tasting...

Before the move, Jay had a day off and the kids were in school.  What to do?  What to do?  How about a rum tasting?  Off we went towards the leeward side to find out what we could learn about how the locals distill rum.  Upon our arrival, we were given freshly squeezed sugar cane.  It was so good!
From the website Begin your tour with a glass of fresh pressed cane juice, made from the native varieties of sugar cane brought to Hawaii by the early Polynesians. Proceed to our observation deck with views of Diamond Head, Pearl Harbor, the Waianae Mountains, and one of the island's largest aquaponic farms. Stand in front of our custom rum still to learn how native Hawaiian sugar cane is distilled into one of the finest agricole rums in the world. Wander through our garden of native Hawaiian sugar canes to learn their history. Finish at the tasting bar, comparing our white and aged rums side by side.
